Connecting SmartLife 2.4ghz bulb
I am trying to add SmartLife bulbs but it requires 2.4 ghz and my Orbi has my phone connected at 5ghz. I think there is a way to change my Orbi to give the option of 2.4 versus 5 ghz versus now where it only connects at 5 ghz. How can I do this?

Could you please identify the manufacturer and model of this smart bulb?
(When I entered "smartlife" as a search term, I got zillions of hits and cannot figure out which one you might be working with.)
The reason for this question is that I made sort of a fool of myself recently by going through all sorts of maneuvers to get a Wyze smart plug to connect before I checked the Wyze web site, where the support FAQ told me exactly what to do. I did nothing to my Orbi, and the plug connected when my phone was connected to the Orbi at 5G.

If you can let CrimpOn know the maker, it would make it easier to advise you on the best strategy.
This is a long running issue. It may be that you can still set up the device with your phone connected at 5 GHz. You'll have to ask the maker.
If you cannot force your mobile to connect to 2.4 GHz, one way around this is to
- temporarily disable the router's 5 GHz.
- Tell the mobile to forget the 5 GHz SSID.
- Give it a minute or two to forget the 5 GHz wifi connection
- Connect to 2.4 GHz.
- Do your thing with the IoT device
- Enable the 5 GHz wifi
- Complain to the people who made the IoT gadget

Absolutely. If one bulb is under my $25 limit, I will buy one and see what happens.
