Connecting wired devices to Orbi Router and/or Satellite

I have two home-automation things that need to be connected to my Orbi router, but I have only one ethernet port still available.  I do have an Orbi satellite with available ethernet ports.

Can I connect my device into the satellite, and expect it to behave just as if I had connected it to the main router itself?

Thank you.

  • You can connect the devices to a open port on the satellite. However if you need more ports on the back of the main router, you can always and a non managed Gb external switch to add more ports. No configuration is needed.

Can get them in 5 ports all the way up to 48 ports if you need. :smileywink:

Find them on Amazon and fairly inexpensive.
