Cutting the Cord using AT& T internet

I currently have ATT U-Verse using their equipment and attaching wirelessly to three addional televisions.  I also have the other usual devices like cell phones, ipad and several computers all using the internet.  My desire is to eliminate U-Verse and buy my own equipment and would like to install it wirelessly on a 2800 sq foot home all on one level. I've been watching some videos but can't really get to the level of understanding I need.   So, I'd like to understand what I need to buy from Netgear to knowing I probably need a good Modem/Router (and maybe switch) all in one. I know I need to get stronger signals to proabably two other locations in the home as the current AT&T devices offer a weak signal at best.  So, what to do?  Hard Wire a WAP or two back to the router or maybe a wireless device(s) which I would prefer becasue that should be easier than crawling around in the attic.   What would you all suggest I buy?  I'm thinking the complete package thinking about a cable from AT&T is all I keep.  The rest would be what I'd buy and yes, I would prefer one company with all equipment so we don't have issues.  I look forward to hearing from you experts in the field.   I've included a model that might be a good kit but do I need additional equipment like a modem and/or switch etc?
