Deadzones help with Orbi
Hi all,
We recently moved to a home, 2,100, SF ranch. We have AT&T's 1G fiber, with their Arris BGW210 installed in the far bedroom. The bandwidth in that room is great, 550MB Up, 600MB, down...

Whit 2100 sq ft, you may only need the orib router. The router alone can cover 2100sq ft if place centrally. You need about 30 feet in between a Orbi router and the satellite to start.
The ISP modem/router:
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, LAN to LAN and configure AP mode on the Orbi router.

Hi Furrye38,
Thank you for the reply. The U-verse service we have is installed at the far bedroom, where their fiber connection is located. I have to keep the Orbi there as the connection point. The challenge will be the loss of signal throughout the home, particulary in the upstaris bonus room, which will be my office. Do you have any suggestions with that set-up needed? I have read people are configuring the AT&T router, which I could do, but I am not sure of any set-up or changes to make on it.
Thank you

I have similar set up, IP modem upstairs far side of 5000sq ft home. So thats were my Orbi router sits and my 1 satellite sits at the opposite end of the house. Complete coverage with 40 feet in between the router and satellite.
ATT Uverse modems can't be fully bridged, so I recommend using its DMZ feature for the Orbi router. Set up a IP address reservation ON the modem for the Orbi router. Then input this IP address into the DMZ. Disable ALL wireless radios ON the modem. Also find and disable uPnP on the modem as well. Then just use the modem as the service interface for the Orbi router and connect all your devices to the Orbi system.

Thank you for sharing that! I know how to log-into the AT&T router and I want to make sure I do this correctly. Would you mind walking me through the settings I need to do on it? Is there any use with my Apple Timeport with the Orbi?
Thank you for the details. I just moved cross country and am a bit ovewhelmed with everything at the moment.
