I would first take a look at the modem and see where the IP address reservation is. Set up IP address reservation for the Orbi router. I should already have an IP address. If it does, just use this and make sure the modem is configured for the IP Address RESERVATION. This will help keep the same IP address for the Orbi router.
Then find the DMZ feature. May say DMZ plus. Input the IP address you set for the Orbi router in to this DMZ. Save these settings.
Find the wireless section of the modem and find any place were you can disable the wifi radios, maybe under some basic setting or under advanced. I'm not too familair with ATT modems so you'll have to snoop around till you find it...
Same for uPnP and firewall on the modem, disable this as well. Won't be needed since you'll be connecting everything to the Orbi system.
After you find and make these changes, save settings along the way, reboot the modem first, then reboot the Orbi router 2nd. You should be good to go then.
