Devices not rolling to RBW30 Satellite from RBR40 Router like they used to

I've had my RBK30 (RBR40 + RBW30) Orbi system for like 51 weeks.  All of a sudden in the past week, my wifi devices are losing their connection and taking forever to reconnect.  I have concluded this happens when a device rolls from the router to satellite's area.  The devices are not autoconnecting like they used to.  I made no changes to anything for this to start happening.

I have tried the following to no avail:

1) Reboot the router and satellite (multiple times)

2) Factory reset the router and satellite (multiple times)

3) Moved the satellite around to different spots

4) Changed the channel on bothe 2.4 and 5

5) Contacted support (they only suppor the hardware now and basically say if the lights aren't a color, it is working fine)

The router and satellite are on the latest firmware.

Any ideas?

Thanks

  • What Firmware version is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Circle, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Set Short preamble instead of Long preamble modes. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).

Also try turning down the power output of the RBRs wifi radios from 100% to 50% and see if this changes anything. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings

      1) Latest firmware (2.6.2.2)

      2) BGW210-700 (AT&T Gigabit)

      3) 3060 sq ft (1 story)

      4) 35 ft

      5) All my neighbors have wifi, but none of their systems are within reach insid emy home

      6) Disable all of those at the same time, or one by one?  And why woudl I need to do this all of a sudden.  My system was flawless for 51 weeks, now it is a piece of garbage if you're near a satellite.

Try turning down the power output of the RBR to 50% and see.
