Does using an ethernet backhaul free up the 5Ghz band previously used for wireless backhaul?
My understanding is that while the orbi is triband, one of the 5Ghz bands is a dedicated band specifically for using the wireless backhaul.
However if I switch my satellite into ethernet backhaul does this free up the band that would normally be used for wireless backhaul---the 1733 5g band? I prefer the wired backhaul because it is more reliable than the wireless one.

I believe the answer is, "Yes... BUT". If my memory is correct, ekhalil posted a method using telnet to disable the backhaul radio, but the backhaul channel does not become available for other use. In other words, it can be done but there isn't any point to doing so.

(I have not tried this myself, and the hack was posted before the latest firmware release.)

Found some old answers and actually, No. Bud did not know the new firmware support it or not.
