Dose the orbi main router must be next to my modem

I have a 3 story house and i have 1 orbi router and 1 satellite and i will connect the router with wan and place it in the second floor should that work?

    The router and modem do not have be physically next to each other. They must only be connected by Ethernet or equivalent wired technology.
