This does indeed appear to be based on (identical to?) the last private beta V1.12.0.16 and has been released to the public. Hope it helps!

I have a ton of devices on my network and they all seem to be function as they are supposed to EXCEPT for my Sprint S8 Plus. After the firmware update my S8 Plus drops off of my network for 20-30 seconds at a time (with an exclamation point next to WiFi icon) before it reconnects. This happens 100% of the time when I move between router/satellites. Internet appears to be fine but then a page or app will stop loading. Only way to get back on the internet is to wait or toggle WiFi (but toggling will often result in another disconnect). A bunch of other S8 users over on the Samsung forums are having the same exact issue with Orbi.

Might as well ask this here...
I've got a RBR/RBS50 setup, and 1.12.0.18 is somehow still automatically downloading itself and installing to my router and satellites even though I went in and disabled automatic updating in the NVRAM.
Does anyone have an alternative way to shut off automatic updating? I kind of need my system functional, and 1.12.0.18 cripples my system so badly that none of my satellites work as access points, and my WiFi speeds drop by at least 50%.

Mine is holding on the downgrade - just checked still at 1.11.0.20 I followed instructions on page 5 of this thread precisely. Be sure to do this fairly quickly after downgrading...the router is a slick upgrader if you wait too long. Also avoid clicking the check the firmware upgrade available button or anything while making the downgrade.

Hi cyberprashant,
I made the same NVRAM modifications given back on page 5... it prevented my Orbi from doing an automatic update back to v1.12.0.18 for about five days (from the evening of 18th to today) but that ended at about 3:10am this morning when it inexplicably auto-updated while I was asleep. It didn't get prompted to do it, and nobody's touched the Firmware Update button, it just launched and ran the update all on its own.
Netgear really needs to include an option to turn Automatic Updates off on this thing like every other manufacturer has been doing for aeons.

I am having the same exact issue with my T-Mobile S8+. It started randomly disconnecting recently (the Wifi is still connected but the connection to the Internet is lost) after having worked flawlessly. I logged in and noticed the router had auto updated to 1.12.0.18. I have tried rolling it back to the previous version but like you that no longer works either. The only other issue I had with Orbi was occassionally the router would freeze up and drop the wifi signal completely which would require me to power off/on the router and it would work for a week or so before doing it again. Additionally, after several weeks, my internet speed would drop from 125 Mbps to 12-25 Mbps. The fix for this was factory resetting and then uploading my saved image to restore all of my settings/ port forwards.- DarrenMAug 02, 2017Sr. NETGEAR Moderator
Hello Everyone
We are listening to the feedback and I have been told that the features that have been taken out will be added back in a future firmware release I just do not have ETAs on the firmware release.
Thanks

Finally, thanks very much for the good news. I'd like to hear the rationale for taking those features away in the first place, but not expecting to hear that.
