I cant connect to a certain website I use for work with my Orbi RBR50. Help!

Hi everyone!

I am hoping someone can help with an issue I been having with my Orbi RBR50 Current firmware of V2.5.1.8.

I am having an issue connecting to a certain website I use for work. The website is https://polestarapp.com/admin/login

When every I use my home Orbi network to connect to this site it will say "polestarapp.com took too long to respond and will time out" and will not connect. I then tried to use the diagnostic tool and it says it maybe a port 443 error due to security or firewall settings but who knows. This seems to be the only site I cant connect to. I am just not sure what to do anymore and desperately need to get on this site for work as I work from home.

The funny thing is that my old router from Spectrum (my ISP) worked great connecting to this site with no issues. I can also connect to the site with my phone's hotspot however its not fast enough to run it smooth. I have to literally use my old router which has terrible range in my home of 3800 SQFT and constantly disconnects. The whole reason I upgraded to the Orbi system was to cover my home with flawless wifi. The Orbi honestly works great except for this one issue was is huge. If i cant use it for work its worthless to me and my family.

Here is my system specs and equipment:

ISP: Spectrum with 400MBPS Ultra internet

My current modem is a DOCSIS 3.1 Modem / Voice Equipment

Manufacturer
Spectrum (ubee)
Model
E31U2V1

My old router was:
Manufacturer
Sagemcom
Model
F@st 5260

My Orbi is a RBR50 Router with 2xRBS50 Satellites

Hope someone can help!

  • Interesting.  With my Orbi RBR50 and Spectrum E31T2V1, DOCSIS 3.1 (phone support), both Edge and Firefox pop up a login screen for something called Tridiuum One.

So, what can cause a web browser to "time out"?  Does this Orbi have Disney Circle or Bitdefender Armor activated?

Yes that is the correct website!

I do not have Circle enabled,

I do have Armor on but even if i turn it off i get the same issue.

Not being able to reproduce the error puts me in a position of guessing "what could be going on?"  Sometimes, people recommend "clearing browser cache" or trying other web browsers.

  • What happens if you disconnect the RBR from the ISP modem and direct wire 1 wired PC to the ISP modem and naviage to that web site?

Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last update?

Yes it will work from single wire or even the previous router from ISP company.

No I have done a hard factory reset. I really dont like that idea unless it's my last resort. It would suck to reconnect every single device in my home again.

You can reduce the hassle on that front by using the same SSID and password for wifi after the reset. Your devices should then reconnect automatically.

That is unlikely to revive the problems you describe.

  • I am having the same problem. Wondering how you were able to fix this, if you did.
I have to work with polstarapp and the computer lags on and on.
    • What Firmware version is currently loaded?

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
