increase my Wi-Fi signal to the garage

Hi I have a ORBI mesh system RBS350 with 2 satellites but I am still struggling sometimes with my signal strength in my detached garage where I have a golf simulator set up which is approximately 15/20 metres from the router.

As I know very little about technology I’m just wondering what anyone can suggest that may help.

I have one satellite about 5 meters from the router as close to the garage as I can maybe 10 meters away ,and the other satellite is in another room 10 meters from the satellite and about the same from the garage.

Many thanks

Mark

  • I forgot to put in my previous post am I better with one of my 2 satellites in the garage or both in the house as close to the garage as I can?

  • the satellites should be at least 10m away from each other/the router.

Maybe try having the 2 in the house and 1 in the garage?

do you get decent signal in the garage? its just not stable?

Or no signal in the garage?

Hi thanks for your reply I do get a fairly decent signal 80% of the time it’s just now and again maybe 3/4 times a week it drops which causes my golf sim to crash.

I have just moved one of the two satellites into the garage which now has line of sight with the other satellite which is in the same room as the router which might help if what I’m researching is correct?

Its difficult when your not technically minded

There is no benefit to having a satellite "in the same room" as the router, unless this room is very large and the router is 10 meters away from the satellite.

Line of sight to the router itself would be enough.
