Laptop takes 10 minutes to reconnect to Orbi Router

Hi All, whenever I leave my home network with my Laptop to use it away from the home, as soon as I return it takes almost 10 minutes to get an internet connection.

Also, occasionally with my iPad, when I move from one floor of my home to another the Ipad loses internet also for a few minutes.

I'm not convinced of the whole idea of "meshing" routers. In the past I've had a single powerful router that seemed to do a better job then my current Orbi system PLUS a netgear range extender!

Any ideas?

    What Firmware is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?

What is the Mfr and model# of this laptop.

What is the Mfr and model# of the laptops wifi adapter card?

If other devices connect immediately and the laptop doesn't, this would be laptop issue, not Orbi. Ensure the laptops wifi and networking adapter drivers are up to date.

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected. https://kb.netgear.com/000036466/How-far-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite-from-my-Orbi-router

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.

Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or maynot be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings

Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Circle, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).

We failed to ask, "when the laptop is somewhere else, how fast does it connect to WiFi?"

Quickly. I’ve been messing with different settings so we’ll see how it goes.
