Laptops keep dropping wifi from satellite

Hey everyone,

So as of a week ago my macbooks/windows laptops ONLY when connected to my orbi SATELLITE (RBS50) frequently drop wifi connection every 10 seconds or so.  This DOES NOT affect iPhones/iPads/other wifi gear, but ONLY laptops.  If I connect them to my main router RBR50 there's no issues.

Has anyone experienced this lately? This is super annoying so much so I have just completely unplugged my satellite for now.

Things i've tried:

- Power cycling

- Updated firmware from 2.5.1.8 to latest 2.5.1.16

- Factory reset satellite (RBS50)

- Factory reset main router (RBR50)

- Tried modifying advanced settings per online recommendations and still doesn't work so I just put it back to factory default settings for now.

Thanks everyone!

Brandon

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
What is the mfr and model# of the laptop and the mfr and model# of the wifi adapter in the laptop.

Sure the wifi adapter drivers are up to date.

If this only happens with the laptops, then they may need more review.

Do they connect at the RBR with the RBS turned OFF?

What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected. https://kb.netgear.com/000036466/How-far-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite-from-my-Orbi-router

What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?

Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or maynot be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings

Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Circle, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Set Short preamble instead of Long preamble modes. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).
