Looks like today is the day for firmware updates. :-) I have a situation similar to CrimpOn: The router admin interface tells me that "There are no new firmware version available". I assumed that...

Interesting. I had seen Voxel mentioned when troubleshooting another issue but never followed up on it. Looking at his site, it also looks like all the FW on his site are for RBK50 devices.
So, the firmware version I posted was copy/pasted directly from the web interface and is what is shown. The satellite in question was only purchased a couple of years ago after we moved into a new house and some of the more remote devices were having connection issues. I think it was a refurbished unit. It has been working well since I installed it.
So that leads to more interesting questions:
- Did the seller modify the name/version of the FW that they installed to lock it for some reason?
- Should I be concerned if that is the case?
- Should I be concerned that there may be other modifications to the software?
I also generally subscribe to the "if it ain't broke..." mantra but when I noticed, while troubleshooting a backhaul issue, that my FW versions were behind and the last one from NetGear had (unspecified) security fixes, I figured it was time to upgrade them.
Considering all this, do you have an educated opinion on whether I should leave them as is, or upgrade all of them to the latest NetGear FW?
