Multiple orbi routers

Well I have a Orbi wifi system in my house. So I have one router, and 3 satilites on each floor.
But I also want wifi in my porch in the garden. But the porch is to far away from any satilite to connect and other one. But I do have a internet cable in the porch, so is it possible to connect an other router in the porch, with the internet cable? And is it resistance with the skill in the air?

It will be in the corner but still maybe it can't handle the water and stuff...

So can I connect 2 orbi routers to one orbi network?

Only the RBS50Y is outdoor rated.

You can connect a RBR in AP mode however this would be using a different SSID name and PW and be a separate wifi signal for access. You can do this. Otherwise, no, the RBR can't be used like a RBS to connect to another Orbi system wirelessly. Only works in router mode or AP mode.

A LAN cable? If so then the 2nd RBR can be used in AP mode as a 2ndary AP. Use a different SSID Name for this one.

I would also turn down the power output of this 2nd RBR in AP mode from 100% to say 50 or 25%.

        Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings

  • Wait, so that means I can also buy an total other router. The Orbi can't be one network?

Not with two RBRs. RBRs only work as the main host router and wifi or in AP Mode with it's own wifi SSID name. RBRs don't work like RBS or as extenders.

Ah so it is possible to buy a cheaper random router as well, and that is than just an other networks SSID and PW
