Network topology configuration

I just installed the RBK53. I’m trying to cover 3 floors, the router is on the bottom floor, 1 satellite is on second and the other satellite on the third. All satellites at setup time glowed blue. My expectation was that the satellite on the second floor would act as a relay.

Wifi is OK on all floors, but when I'm connected on the top one my performance is way worse, about 1/5!

Looking at the Orbi app it looks like both satellites are always connected directly to the router, I was thinking if there's a way to force one satellite to connect to the other instead of the router

  • Unfortunately, you cannot force one satellite to connect through another.

Be sure you have Daisy-chain Topology enabled in the router GUI under: Advanced, Advanced Setup, Wireless Settings. This is required for the feature to work.
