Orbi - Going from Router Mode to AP Mode...

Hey Everyone,

 

I currently have my Orbi RBR50 System in 'Router Mode'. In the very near future, I'm going to be installing a new Router and will be placing the Orbi RBR50 in 'AP Mode'. I'm currently running Firmware version: V2.1.4.10 on both the Orbi and the two Satellites.

 

Is there anything that I need to be aware of prior to switching the Orbi into 'AP Mode'?

 

Any best practices, suggestions or recommendations?

    Just be aware that when it is not in router mode, you will lose some functionality, as by design it's not supposed to do some things in AP-only mode.  

     

    The router should take over DHCP (handing out IP addresses) as only one device should do that.
