ORBI App takes up too much storage (5+GB ) on Android

Any idea why ORBI app takes up whopping 5+GB space on Android?   Here is the break up I get from Storage analyzer

App - 163MB, Data - 5.26GB , Cache 483K -  Total - 5.42GB

How can I reduce the space?  I have 1 router and 2 satelights .  Have 50+ devices connected in total..

Thanks

I was contacted by NG community support and was requested to participate in beta version. I did and provided fix seemed to have resolved the issue. The storage consumption is now lt 200mb.

So the higher space consumption was related to the issue in the app.

Hopefully NG support may already reached out to you.

    Thanks.

My Android phone shows (ver 2.9.6.1513)

    App 159mb

    User Data 45.97mb

    Cache 487kb

    Android Tablet shows: (ver 2.9.6.1513)

    App 169mb

    User Data 19.38mb

    Cache 4.30mb

I would close the app, erase the User Data and Cache and then open the app and sign in.

Mine shows 215Mb on my Android Galaxy Tab S2.

"Data - 5.26GB , Cache 483K -  Total - 5.42GB" I believe is what the Total storage available to the app. Data Usage or User Data means how much storage was used by the app. Mine shows Data Usage 134Mb/49.10Gb used since Jan 24. Meaning it used up 134MB of 49Gb of free data.

      Storage

215MB/32.00Gb of internal storage used meaning the app takes up 215MB of the 32Gb available free space on my pad.

Closing the app and deleting the data helped.  Its now in MBs.  However ,  I was not able to get the app to connect to wifi somehow , so I have to use Anywhere connection in order to see my already set up ORBI devices.

        Thanks.

Same problem here! My orbi app took up 18GB of internal storage space! So I would d advise everybody to use the app and check if storage space on your phone is growing!
Cleared my data from the android orbi app. Then it went back to like 100mb or what ever.
Then used the app a lot again. 2 days later... internal storage data again 2 gig for the orbi app!(instead of 100 or so..)
Hope they can fix this soon! (This has noting to do with clearing cache). Also nothing to do with internet traffice data.
Pure local storage and the app seems to get bigger and bigger untill your phone is full.
