Orbi installation - firmware update - dead router

When you did the reset did you press and hold the reset button for a very long time, until the green light started flashing? That should reset everything. If that doesn't work there's probably some way to use tftp to reload the firmware. I've done this on other bricked Netgear routers but not on Orbi yet.
I pressed for 15-20 seconds, there was no change to the green light. After your post I tried pressing for longer, finger got tired after 2.5 minutes. Still no change to green light.
How would I go about a forcing a firmware update without being able to access the router page?
When you insert a paperclip into the reset hole, you hold down the button until the green power LED starts flashing amber. It shouldn't take 2.5 minutes. Maybe the firmware got corrupted during the upgrade.
This page describes how to force a firmware upload using TFTP. You do not need to access the router webpage. I have done this to correct corrupt firmware, but have not needed to do this with Orbi.
