Orbi RBK50 changing password for Security Options (WPA2-PSK) resort back to old password
I have a Orbi RBK50 changing password for Security Options (WPA2-PSK) resort back to old password. The router has firmware version V2.7.4.24. I have reset the router with the 3 methods suggested and the last time kept the new password for 4 days and now after a reboot it's back to the old password. I show correctly on the home page, but if you look at wireless password in basic and advanced it shows the old password. How do I flush this out, so it reads correctly and holds the correct password. By the way the password that keeps coming up is the old admin password and was never used for the Wi-Fi.
And what is the normal expected swing of speeds for Wi-Fi I can go from 866 down to the lower 400's and nothing is changing. This seems like a rather extreme change but maybe it's normal.
I am using
2.4 auto
5 channel 36
WPA2-PSK [AES]
Enable 20/40 MHz Coexistence un- checked
Daisy Chain is off.
All 3 items below are checked
Enable Implicit BEAMFORMING - Boosts WiFi speed, reliability, & range for all mobile devices
Enable MU-MIMO
Enable Fast Roaming
These setting seems to have made this connect to all of my devices the best and to the closest satellite.
Thank you in advance for your assistance.
You'll not see much past 500Mpbs on 5Ghz AC. Due to limitations of devices, 2x2 MIMO and the design of the WiFi in general, will limit speeds seen. Also distances and environment noise and wifi neighbors will be a factor as well. You should see and can see near 900Mpbs on a ethernet connection with the RBR though.
Placement and distances between the RBR and RBS is key. 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR and RBS🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected.

Be sure to save off a back up configuration to file for safe keeping. Saves time if a reset is needed.

Be sure to clear out all browser caches before entering the routers web page.
Try a different browser to see if you can effect the change...
Try a full on factory reset on the RBR and setup from scratch...

Once I did that, I am no longer seeing the old password. Thank you it appears it is now resolved. Do you have any idea about the reduced speed issue or if the numbers are normal.
