Orbi RBK50 Satellite disconnecting and issue with 2.4ghz..

Hi Guys,

Couple of issues with my Netgear Orbi RBK50 if anybody has any deas?

First one is that the orbi satellite keeps randomly disconnecting from the internet. Turn it off and on again and it's fine. This happens once a day. The router is wired into my existing technicolor router which has it's wifi radio disabled. I have tried the orbi in both AP mode and rouer mode but have still have the same issue.

The second issue is that i got increasingly annoyed with my devices contantly connecting to the slower 2.4ghz network so i logged onto the orbi and in the advanced setup i unchecked the enable SSID broadcast box in the 2.4ghz section. i thought that this would do the trick but despite this my devices are still connecting to the 2.4ghz network.

Any ideas woukd be appreciated.

Hi, i bought the Orbi last April. The firmware version is V2.7.2.104.

The router is a technicolor TG588v provided by my internet provider. The wireless is disabled.

        you've got several issues:

        1.  Your firmware (V2.7.2.104) has known problems.  you may want to do a search and see what others have said and consider reverting back to a previous version.

        2. IF you must run that technicolor TG588v router then the Orbi (which is also a router) then one must be in the access mode.

Since you've had the orbi from April last year, my bet is the firmware is causing your problems.

        Good luck
