Orbi RBR40 & FIOS router won't connect to some Sonos devices
I upgraded to 5G FIOS router several months ago. I've been using the Orbi with 2 satellites, no issues. All was great but I added more, newer Sonos devices so I was forced to connect to Sonos2 (S2) app, no longer able to use the S1 app. The change required a factory reset to the devices previously installed. This worked ok for the existing Sonos "Port" & the new one, now 2 ports installed. It also worked for the 2 newer and 2 existing (4total) "Sonos One"s. But the "Connect:amp" & "Sonos Play 1"s get all the way thru the setup and thwn eventually say some varying version of "can't be set-up." The reasons given in the app vary but after multiple attempts even with SONOS reps, Crutchfield techs, & at least one Geek squad tech seem stumped. All suggest different work-arounds but i only tried one related to resetting the advanced settings in Orbi, which didn't work, perhaps because I only saw a screenshot of one part of the fix. Before I fall into a third day of the mirror and the rabbit hole, I thought I'd ask here. Many terms I don't understand and I'm hoping someone here has also experience in this.
I've avoided upgrading or adapting to the S2 app cuz I'd read there were issues. Would've hoped after 2 years thurs would've been resolved.
I did the factory resets on all of the devices. Connecting an ethernet cable changes nothing. And it's only an issue on the connect:amps and the Play 1s.
Several have said it's related to my needing to connect via 2.4Gz, and something about creating a bridge related to Orbi.

A few things.
- Sonos doesn't play nicely with mesh systems. If you search their forums, you'll find tons of posts about it. I'd highly recommend looking through their forums for more/better tips. There's a few things you can make sure you do to try to help with it.
- You put you have fios. verizon likes to install modem/router combo devices for their gateway. Is that what you have? What modem/gateway is the orbi connected to? HOw is it setup? in passthrough mode? or the orbi's ip address in its dmz? or the orbi in access point mode? One of these are needed to prevent a double nat (sonos doesn't play nicely with double nat's either)
- Not sure much about the equipment you have from sonos but all my reading has shown that any hubs/bridges need to be connected to the primary router. So make sure any of those are directly connected to the orbi router. Unless you have it in access point mode. Then it should connect to the fios gateway.
