Orbi RBR40 Magenta no wifi but ethernet works

I'm trying to help out someone with this router. The top light is magenta and the wireless network does not show, but if you directly connect to one of the LAN ports, it does have internet access. Their power went out, and after it was restored they could not use their Orbi system. They had a new modem replaced by their ISP and I enabled bridge mode on the modem but still nothing. I brought the router back to my place to try it on my self owned modem, and still the same issue.

Failed troubleshooting steps:

  1. Factory reset with paper clip for 15 sec

  2. Tried using the Orbi app to set up as new device

  3. Tried orbilogin.com/net, routerlogin.com/net, 192.168.0.1, and 192.168.1.1 (the last one just shows spinning and never loads or gives a response)

Without being able to get into the admin portal, I can't even see if there is a firmware update. Does anyone know of any other method to get into the portal. Maybe some kind of override, or some other step I can take?

    • When an RBR40 is Factory Reset and not connected to anything (yes, no internet possible)
      • It should broadcast the WiFi SSID/password printed on the product label (bottom of case)
      • The LAN ports should have the IP address 192.168.1.1
      • A web browser should be able open 192.168.1.1 and log in with credentials "admin" and "password"
      • If this does not happen, then the router may have been damaged in the power outage.
    • When connected to your modem and 'wired' devices get internet, the LAN IP address depends on what IP addressed was assigned to the router WAN port:
      • If the WAN port has a public IP address, then the LAN ports will be 192.168.1.1
      • If the WAN port has an IP in the subnet 192.168.1.x, then the LAN ports will be 10.0.0.1
      • An easy way to determine this is to look at the IP Gateway address that has been assigned to the wired device
(On a PC the command ipconfig /all will display this)
