Orbi RBR50 / RBK53 internet speed dropping every few days
My RBR50 router drops from 120Mbps download speeds to 10Mbps every few days and I have to reset the router to get it back to 120Mbps. I've read some articles on similar problems but haven't seen a resolution. Is there anything I can try?
The Windows 10 desktop I run the speedtest on is wired directly (6ft Cat5e) to the back of the RBR50 router. The router is connected directly to an Arris SB8200 modem with service from Comcast. The firmware version on the router is V2.5.1.16. The 2 sattellites are on the same firmware version and connected through an ethernet backbone.
Thanks for the reply guys. I think I may have figured it out. 4 days ago I decided to look at the settings in my Arris modem. The link aggregation setting was set to on. I turned it off and my speed hasn't dropped since. I'm hoping that was the issue and that it helps anyone else having the same issue with similar equipment.

Does the speed drop if you directly connect to the ISP modem to ensure it works as expected?
Doe other wired device experience the same thing?
How about wireless?Have the ISP check the signal and line quality UP to the modem.
Be sure there are no coax cable line splitters in the between the modem and ISP service box.
Be sure your using good quality RG6 coax cable up to the modem.
Be sure to power OFF the modem for 1 minute them back ON.Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last Orib FW update?

When it happens, you could plug directly into the Arris SB8200 to check your internet connection. Also, how hot is the Arris SB8200. The need good ventilation as they run hotter than many DOCSIS 3.1 modems. Mine was in my garage and kept overheating requiring resetting. I moved it into my air conditioning and n more issues.
Reset the Arris SB8200 and let it reconnect with your ISP hub.
How are your satellites connected to the router via ethernet, meaning, any switches in between or direct.
One can always install a usb laptop fan cooler under ones modem. I keep on under mine and under my router. :smileywink:
