Orbi RBR50- Suddenly says "Connection not private" on multiple websites

RBR50 / Firmware Version: V2.3.5.30 Orbi has worked great for about a year. The two satellites disconnected from the router today and after several hours and attempts, finally got them successfully reconnected to the router. Internet is working, except the majority of websites return with "Your Connection is Not Private" error. Unplugged / plugged back in multiple times already. Checked for firmware updates for both router and satellites and those are both up to date already. Went into advanced Orbi settings > Blocked Sites and selected "https" to be never blocked. Is there anything else anyone can recommend?

  • What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?

    Is Armor or Circle enabled?
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last FW update?

What browser are you using? Be sure sites your visiting are supporting the secure or locked pad lock next to the URL address in the browser.

Clear your browser caches. Try a different browswer as well.

There is newer version of FW for Orbi available for manual download if your interested at some point to try:

"Connection not private" is often a complaint by the web browser when the user attempts to visit an "http" (not "httpS") web site.  A lot of us got into the habit of typing "http" (after YEARS of practice) and do not realize that modern browsers often look for an "https" web site with the same name that we typed in and go to it without telling us.  If we attempt to visit a site that has no equivalent "https twin", the browser will complain.  "Connection not private."

So, telling Orbi not to block "https" will not address the problem.

If the browser does not do the substitution automatically, if often displays a warning or "not locked" symbol in the header.

If it's not too sensitive, could you provide some examples of web sites that give this message and which web browser is being used?
