Orbi RBR50 Router Power Led Blinking Red After Reboot

Hello,

My current setup is the following:

Orbi Router Port 1 -> Nighthawk SX10 -> Orbi Satellite 1
Orbi Router Port 2 -> Nighthawk S8000 -> Orbi Satellite 2

Firmware of all Devices is up to date (Orbi System: V2.7.4.24, NightHawk SX10: v1.7.1.3, Nighthawk S8000: v1.7.1.0)

When the overall system is on, up and running, everything works as expected.

However, when trying to reboot the Orbi Router, the main led is blinking white, and its power led blinks red (after briefly being green, right after power it on). the whole system doesn't start at all.

In order to temporary fix the starting process, I have to disconnect the 2 ethernet cables from the Orbi Router (meaning it has no longer any connection to both Switches) until the Router starts (this time no power led blinking red). When the router is powered back on and running, I then reconnect the ethernet cables to the Orbi router. This allows all the satellites to sync, and then everything works.

I'm not sure why this is happening, and this is far from ideal as it used to work fine before.

FYI, I tried to reset all devices (Router, Satellites, Switches) and reconfigure them... without success.

I tried rebooting the router with only 1 switch connected (no other connection from the switch, only the uplink from Orbi is connected), same issue.
Connecting directly the router to Satellite 1 does the same.

Any suggestion would be appreciated.

Thanks

    Hello EpiKgohan

    Welcome to the NETGEAR Community!

    I understand that you are having difficulties including your NETGEAR switches in your Orbi network. Since the Orbi router and satellites connect without the switches we can count this as a configuration issue. This usually occurs when the ports are assigned different VLANS. For two devices to connect to each other the ports need to be assigned the same VLANS. For example, if the router is connected to port 1 with VLAN#2 then VLAN#2 will also need to be assigned to the port in which the satellites are assigned. Since all the ports your the switch are members of VLAN#1 by default then all the devices connected to the switch should be able to communicate once that VLAN is active. However, when using a router with a switch the port needs to be a trunk port. By default, all of the ports on the switch are access ports. Please change to port connected to your Orbi router to trunk port mode. Test connectivity by connecting a PC to the switch to verify you are able to connect to the internet. Then connect the additional satellite to the switch and initiate the pairing process.

    Please follow the instructions below to change the port setting of your Nighthawk S8000 GS808E:

    From the menu at the top of the page select SWITCHING.
    NEXT, select VLAN
    Then, select ACTIVATION MODE
    Now, select CONTINUE
    Finally, from the mode menu select Trunk(uplink).

    For more information on VLANS and port modes please see the user manual below page 53:
