ORBI RBR50 set up as AP
Hi, I received newer Spectrum modem(HiTron Technologies Docsis 3.1 eMTA, E31N2V1) and
seperate router(Pack Fast 5280/ SAGEMCOM /RAC2V2S) that replaced my
UBEE(modem+router combo). I had my ORBI-RBR50 set as my router & 1 additional RBS- as satellite. All worked well.
Upgrading from 300 to 400 Mbps plan was why they sent me upgraded hardware
I followed post on this site and was able to put the RBR50 into AP mode succesfully.
I have ethernet from HiTron modem to SAGECOM router and my internet cable from the RBR50(AP) plugged into
SAGEMCOM router. The RBR50 goes through power up phase blinking but never stays blue constant like before.
It actually seems like it is working but wanted to know if others have seen this?
Same with the RBS50 it will not stay blue?
I have updated both to v2.5.1.16
I did not see a way to shut off WiFi only on the Spectrum router(if possible)
I just left the Network name different than Orbi Wifi
What would be ideal setup here?

Exactly, that is the point of a modem. convert from coax to ethernet. If the three ethernet ports on the Orbi are not enough, most people add an inexpensive gigabit ethernet switch. 8 port models are under $30. An "unmanaged" switch is preferred.

My instinct would be to use their modem and ignore the router. Just plug the Orbi into the modem.
The "blue light" stays on for only a minute or two, and then goes out.

This modem they sent only has 1 ethernet port, unfortunately. Maybe i can add a switch or something.
The router has several ports for more options
