Orbi RBS50

I have a desktop running Windows 10 at the far end of the house from a RBS50 satellite.  Unfortunately, while the signal remains strong, the internet disconnects a lot.  I will be working and it will drop 5-10 times in an hour.  I used to use the TP-Link TL-WDM3200 and it has a known issue with the driver in windows 10.  I am currently using the ASUS AC55 with the same issue.

i dont understand , where is the orbi router in this setup , the sat being at the other end of the house means the orbi router should be in the middle right ? and you would be connecting to the orbi router and not the sat ? or is the orbi router in another house

  • Yes, the orbi router is in another building and the satellite is in the building with the computer having internet issues. Sorry for the confusion.

then the answer is ether move the comp to the sat or closer to it or run ethernet from the sat to the comp

      or

get a better wireless adapter in your comp

      something like asus pce-ac68

The intensity of the signal from the satellite is not bad.  I have 4 bars and remain connected to the network, but then it disconnects me from the internet.  I am losing internet, but not losing satellite connectivity.  I am not sure how moving closer to the satellite or getting a higher intensity wifi card would fix that.
