Orbi Router rbr20 ethernet port not detecting device
Orbi RBR20 does not detect a device connected via the ethernet port. The device is an alarm system using DHCP. Any advice gratefully received. David.

Nothing has helped so far. The RBR20 ethernet port is not detecting any device (PCs, printer, alarm module). Are there any Orbi Router settings that should be configured? All technical advice is that the router should connect via ethernet automatically - clearly not the case.
WiFi is working perfectly.
Any help gratefully appreciated.

Hi,
Have you had any luck with your problem? This is identical to a problem I am having with mine which has an identical setup and ISP to yours. WiFi works perfectly around my office and house. The RBR20's single ethernet port is dead and cannot find any configs to open it or diagnose it.

At last: solved! Below is for an Australian NBN FTTC service ISP by Westnet (TPG). VLAN Id has to = 2.
Solution: Logged into the Orbi RBR20 router > ADVANCED > VLAN/Bridge Settings > By VLAN tag group radio button > Enable > VLAN Id = 2 > Priority = 1 Wired Ports = All Wireless = All > Apply. Eureka!
This opened the ethernet port correctly and now works perfectly.

Glad you got it figured out. Thanks for letting us know. Please mark your thread as solved so others will know.
Be sure to make a backup configuration to file for safe keeping.
Enjoy. :smileywink:
