Orbi with Spectrum Modem/Router
Spectrum installed my internet and they use a 2 in 1 cable modem/router. How do i set it up for my orbi to work?
You can run Orbi in AP mode.
Or, if the Spectrum router can be put into Bridged Mode, you can do that and run Orbi in Router mode.
- If i run spectrum as a bridge mode. Does that affect the modem part? I only have 1 box functioning both as the modem and router
No. The purpose of bridged mode is to disable the router while leaving the modem enabled.
I dont know know if the Spectrum box includes bridged mode though. You'll need to determine that via Google or by contacting your ISP.
I too am a Spectrum customer and was provided with an Arris TG1672G modem (internet, cable, telephone) when I subscribed. I am running the modem in bridge mode and using the Orbi as my router (that is, the Orbi is not in AP mode). I'm not sure which modem you're using but I have been fortunate enough to avoid many of the problems that others in this forum have faced. Good luck.
