Orbi

I want to exten my orbi to a guest house approx 100 ft from main house that has week reception of the house orbi network. I have an Ethernet cable that runs from house to the guest house. If the orbi in the guest house is unable to connect wirelessly, can I still connect it via the Ethernet cable to the router in the house?

  • Yes, use the wired backhaul to the satellite in your guest house.  If possible, do not run the cable through a switch between the router and satellite.  If you do have to use a switch, you need one that does not have green power-saving features (802.3az spec),
