Printer behind ORBI not found
Dear friends, I have a standard configuration, with a WiFi modem from my Telco provider in the basement, and an (RBR50) ORBI access point (set-up as Router) in my kitchen. Both have a different S...

Thank you Stephen !
Model = Epson ET-2600. My phone is on the ORBI SSID and so is my ET-2600 Printer. And that doesn't work.
Note that I have a second printer, in the basement, an Epson ET-2700. This one is on the modem's SSID. When my phone is on the ORBI SSID, I can't print on that one either, but when I switch the Wifi on my mobile to the SSID of my modem, I can print on the ET-2700...
So strange that on the ORBI SSID things don't work. Maybe due to the NAT condition (see answer above) ?

You only are printing from a phone? No PCs?

One of my printers is the ET-2760.
It needs to be on the Orbi's SSID (as you found).
That is because partly due to NAT, but mainly because the method used by the Epson app for finding the printer local only, so cannot get through the Orbi router.

This worked with the same app before you installed the Orbi?
Is the app finding the printer?
If not, have you tried the manual IP method in the Epson iPrint app?

Hi Stephen,
Thanks for the feedback !
Yes, I also print from laptops. Same issue. When on the same SSID it finds the printer. If on a different one, it does not find the printer.
Also when I manually give the IP address of the printer, it doesn't find the printer (I have the correct IP address, because I push the "i" button on the Epson printer, so it tells me the SSID and IP address).
This morning, I changed the ORBI to act as an Access Point, and no longer as a Router. All IP addresses changed (of course), but the ORBI kept the name of "its" SSID as before (so different from the one of the modem/router)... Not sure why. And so the problem remains... I can still not print from a different SSID, although the IP is now uniquely set by the modem/router.
Not sure if I can (or must) change the SSID of the ORBI to match the one from the modem/router. Today, the difference is handy, because if one "WiFi" doesn't work, you switch to the other (SSID).

Main reason for the initial issue is that you have two routers on the same line using different IP address networks. These won't allow for some cross IP address traffic thus this block data getting from the PC to the printer while on different networks. Once you changes the Orbi system to AP mode, it's network became the same as the host routers network, thus the printer and PCs were now on same network and now you can print from any PC. Recommend keeping this configuration.

Is that still the case?

This is still the case even after you switched to AP mode on the Orbi?

Hi Stephen, let me answer your 2 questions :
- I have 2 printers, the ET-2600 is on my desk on the first floor and is on the ORBI WiFi. The ET-2700 is in the basement, on the WiFi of the modem/router from my internet provider. I can print on the 2700 if my cell-phone is on the WiFi of my modem/router. If my cell-phone is on the ORBI WiFi I can NOT print on the ET-2700. Furthermore, I can NOT print on the 2600, even if my cell-phone is on the ORBI WiFi... (so it seams that when a printer is on the ORBI WiFi, it is not "visible" to any equipement on the home-network.)
- I've now changed the ORBI to act as Access Point, so no longer as (2nd) router. The IP address of my ET-2600 changed (of course). But I still can't print on it from my cell-phone, even if I provide the (new) IP address manually. Strange thing : the IP address changed, but the SSID is still "ORBI". So maybe that's the remaining issue ?
Since I switched the ORBI to AP mode, all our cell-phones have more trouble to connect to the internet. Not sure why. It also takes longer to fully load webpages, and a refresh if often needed. Strange...
Appreciate all the help & advise. Thank you !
