I am trying to set up a VPN server on my RBR50. After I enable the VPN server on the router (using the default settings), I clicked on the 'For Mac OSX' download button, which did create a folder (titled 'nonwindows') in my Mac downloads folder, and inside that folder were 5 files. The documentation for the RBR50 (from 2018) indicated using the Tunnelblick app instead of the Tunnelblick app, but I was unable to get that to work. In addition, it appears as though the Tunnelblick app will not work effectively without adding extra extensions and such - and that had issues as well. Could not get Tunnelblick to connect to the Internet (much less my home network). Therefore, I also downloaded the OpenVPN client and launched it, and the app asked for a configuration file that had a file extension of .ovpn - which was not created when I downloaded the client stuff above. What "is" interesting is that I also downloaded client configuration information for both Windows and smartphone - and the smartphone download ended up being an .ovpn file! On a whim, I decided to upload that .ovpn file to the OpenVPN client on my Mac - and it worked. I was able to connect to the Internet (using my mobile phone as a hotspot so that I wasn't connecting my Mac to my home). However, it appears as though the Mac OpenVPN did "not" connect to my RBR50, and thus cannot "see" any of the devices on my home network. Maybe there are some port forwarding rules that I need to have in place "somewhere" so that they get put into the .ovpn file? FYI, I do have port forwarding rules in place for several servers in my home network. Anyway, does anyone have any ideas on what I might be able to do? Thanks in advance.RBS20 bricked? red power led flashing
had an old pair of RBS20 satellites with red power led flashing won´t connect to router removed them bricked? searched a lot what worked for me removed satellites from router updated router to last firmware version download and unpacked satellite firmware version (same version as router) connected the satellite by ethernet cable to router (RBR20) changed router address (it was 192.168.1.1), changed to 192.168.1.200 used software TFTPD32, connecting to the interface where router was connected uploaded the firmware to 192.168.1.1 (this goes to satellite, through router!) that is all... repeat with other satellites then add the satellite back to router using web interface!SolvedRBR50-V2.7.6.6 firmware install issues
I have repeatedly tried installing via both the mobile app and downloading the latest firmware directly from Orbi and ran into issues. When I try using the mobile app and ask it to check for updates, it soon comes back with "Firmware Check Error." In attempts to download the firmware by way of computer, I receive notice that the disk image (.img file) is corrupt. I am using the latest versions of the iPhone and Mac operating systems on hardware less than a year old.Resetting Orbi RBS50Y outdoor satellite
I've bought a second-hand RBS50Y and want to add it into my existing mesh. However, from reading the manual, once the satellite is synced it needs resetting to be able to sync it to a new device. How can I reset the device in order to allow it to sync again? The manual is not really clear, just mentioning the reset button - is that sufficient? Do you just press it briefly and that's it?Win10 stopped connecting to my routers DNS server
I have had all my Win10 devices, both LAN and wireless, stop receiving a valid IP from my RBR50 Orbi routers today, and now they have no internet. There was no Windows update, and I went through exhaustive network troubleshooting on my devices. My router firmware was just updated to Version V2.7.5.6, so I assume this is an issue with this firmware on this older Windows OS. I confirmed this is only an issue with my Orbi router with this OS because I can connect these devices via LAN and wireless to other non-Netgear routers, and I have no issues with my non-Win10 devices. Is anyone else seeing this?RBR50 out of nowhere is losing connectivity 5-7 random times a day
So, I am relatively technical and out of nowhere by Orbi Mesh has lost its mind. Spent two weeks with Spectrum to make sure everything is perfect between the Node and my House and then with Spectrum Maintenance to make sure the Node and Upstream is fine. I share a node with my neighbor, and he has had zero issues....so it appears to be my Orbi out of the blue. No new devices added or removed and no changes. What firmware is loaded on the RBR and RBS? Firmware is V2.7.5.6 What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too? Brand New Spectrum Charter Modem - Model ET2251 / DOCSIS 3.1 eMTA What is the size of your home? Sq Ft? What is the distance between the router 📡 and satellite(s)🛰️? 30 feet or more is recommended in between RBR 📡 and RBS 🛰️ to begin with depending upon building materials when wired or wirelessly connected. Nothing changed of course, but 3,000. Each Orbit is on its own floor, 2nd, Main, Basement and for 4 years has worked flawlessly and yes more than 30 ft apart of course. Does this happen with the RBS turned OFF? Mmmm...I have not been able to try that as my wife works on the Main Floor and her only access is Wireless and she can't get a single from the RBR from my second floor office....but on the weekend I can try this if nothing else. Does this happen with both wireless and wired devices? Yes - my work laptop is hard wired to RBR What channel configurations are currently set on the router? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and 40 to 48 channel on 5Ghz. Nothing changed....but 2.4Ghz is Auto and 5GHz is 48 - how is is possible that Auto for years worked on 2.4 and now this is my issue...can adjust I guess, but a bit lost on this one. I am trying to add Wemo smart plugs to Apple Home, and having trouble having them recognized. I think it is because my iPad is connected to 5Ghz channel, and the plugs use 2.4. I have found older articles about temporarily disabling the ssid broadcast for 5ghz, turning down its power, etc via the Orbi web page. But, I don’t see any controls that will enable me to get my iPad to connect to 2.4 - perhaps these control have been removed. The version of the Orbi web page is 2.7.5.6, and I have an RBR50Solved
