Hey everyone, Long time reader first time poster. I recently moved in to a new house 1200Sqft. I would prefer to be wired in but there's only one cable outlet in the home in the living room. I've been running an 85ft CAT8 cable for the past week and decided to purchase the Nighthawk A9000 USB WIFI 7 Adapter. Got it yesterday and can not get it to work. That's a lie, it will work on the 2.4GHz and 5GHz band, it will however not connect on the 6GHz band. My router is a TPLink BE550 and I've never had any issues with it, owned for about a year and a little more. Tried updating the firmware, reseting the router itself. Only thing I haven't done is factory restore the router yet. Everything is configured on the routers end just fine. I have all the bands on their own SSID instead of just a single SSID. PSC is enabled. I've also tried re-naming the 6GHz band, changing the password etc. On the A9000 side, I've set prefered band to 6GHz. The error I get is CAN NOT CONNECT TO NETWORK. But again, 2.4GHz and 5GHz it works just fine on. Any ideas?14Views0likes4CommentsIssue when rebooting RBR750P - router continually cycles and requires reset
I have an issue when rebooting my RBR750P. Every time I do a reboot, the router stops working. It will come back up, but I am unable to connect to it. My Wifi network will appear on my devices but I can't connect. If I hook up to the router via ethernet, I can't access the device. The only way to get it work again is to do a reset and set up my router fresh again. I can't even load a configuration file, if I try to set it up via a saved config I have the same issues as above (wifi network isn't available, can't access via ethernet). This issue does NOT happen if I power cycle by unplugging and then plugging in the router. I can't find anything in the logs to indicate what the issue might be so I don't even know where to start troubleshooting/debugging. Has anyone experienced anything like this, or have an idea where to start looking? Trying to purchase Armor Security after receiving email of a discounted offer. I have tried to subscribe 4 times and each time it accepts my entered information but then, when "Place Your Order" is selected, the subscription page is updated with blanks where I just entered the information. I received no confirmation that the order was accepted. I fear that I will windo up with 4 subscriptions over a one-year period -- not what I want.17Views0likes1CommentA7500 recurring BSOD when used as Hyper-V virtual switch — WinDbg points to mtkwl6eux.sys
Experiencing recurring BSODs with my A7500 when configured as a Hyper-V external virtual switch on Windows 11 24H2. 4 crashes in 6 days. The adapter works fine in normal (non-Hyper-V) usage. Reproduction (on my system): 1. Enable Hyper-V on Windows 11 24H2 2. Create an external virtual switch bound to the A7500 shared with mgmt OS 3. Connect to a WiFi network 4. System BSODs within hours to days WinDbg analysis of the full kernel memory dump points to mtkwl6eux.sys (though I'm not a kernel debugging expert, so corrections welcome): - Bugcheck 0x139 (KERNEL_SECURITY_CHECK_FAILURE), param 0x3 — LIST_ENTRY corruption - A system thread created by mtkwl6eux.sys waits on an I/O buffer (pool tag IoSB) in nonpaged pool - The wait block for this thread is corrupted — both list pointers zeroed, Thread field NULL — consistent with a double-remove or use-after-free - Thread stack: mtkwl6eux → ndis!NdisWaitEvent → nt!KeWaitForSingleObject - The crash occurs when Windows' ETW subsystem enumerates threads and walks the corrupted wait list - All dumps have identical stacks. Failure bucket: 0x139_3_CORRUPT_LIST_ENTRY_nt!KiFastFailDispatch - Driver's internal PDB references MediaTek MT7921AU — may affect other adapters using the same chipset Ruled out: RAM (memory diagnostic passed), other drivers (corrupted memory and thread both trace to mtkwl6eux.sys), hardware (adapter works fine without vSwitch). Workaround: Move the Hyper-V virtual switch to a different adapter. Crashes stop. Environment: Windows 11 Pro 24H2 Build 26100.8037 | mtkwl6eux.sys v1.0.0.125 (latest) | USB 3.0 | Hyper-V + HVCI enabled Anyone else seen this? I've also opened a support case. Happy to share more dump details.5Views0likes0CommentsNetwork map
I have a bit similar problem. I have a router with the latest firmware version (V7.2.8.2_5) and a satellite with an old version (V3.2.17). The satellite appears online as a "router" and does not allow to up web server. The satellite's bootloader doesn't allow me to upload a firmware file larger than 32 MB, so I can't update it. Are there any options for updating the firmware for this satellite?22Views0likes6CommentsORBI application issue
First ORBI system was active on the ORBI application, was able to view all details. We purchased a second system for a Delaware location; application dropped our first, although picked up our second. We are unable to view details for our first location. Systems are on different routers, one verizon one xfinity. Looking for a solution or how to add back our first location.93Views0likes8Commentsnetgear rax200

Trying to set up Nighthawk app on new phone and somehow my password wasn't working. Got this email with a one-time code. It had this phone number to contact Netgear support and it took me to what was almost certainly a scam that first asked if I was over 50 and then tried to "give me a free medic alert device." Luckily I found another path through the app that had a real number for Netgear. I don't want to wait for my screenshot to upload. It said: "If you did not request this code, please contact Netgear Support at 1800 419 4543." Happy to forward if helpful.99Views0likes5CommentsiPhone Random generated MAC addresses
My RAX80 is set to REJECT new devices. My iPhone is registered as an ALLOWED device via it's HARD MAC address as are various other devices. But at least the iPhones and iPads now use Random generated MAC addresses and seem to generate new random ones ever so often yet still connect. I have not signed into the Router for the last couple of years so issues related to questions (1) and (2) below are a sudden surprise but may have gone on for some time. So, being able to still connect it thus not a problem but my listing of "Allowed Devices not presently connected" now lists well over 100 MAC addresses with names like DEV-6C:C8:98 being the first half of the by me unrecognized MAC address or names like xqw?%, xqw??, or xqw? etc. being presumably newly generated random MAC addresses or registered devices where name is lost like xqw?? being my wife's computer and xqw? being my iPad-Pro per previous listings. One computer base on MAC address but with no name at all and lists the MAC address as wireless (but in a PREVIOUS listing as wired which it is and with the correct computer name). As it also still loses the specific names of some of the devices I had registered, e.g. now just stating iPhone (there are more than one and various iWatches and iPads including more than one computer), so it is very difficult to see what is what. I understand Apple and other smartphone suppliers using for some time now random addresses is for network privacy improvements. My questions: How does the router verify the connection is valid, if a random MAC address is used? Assuming router somehow still can verify that that "new" random address is legit and verifies is to the registered device via it's registered HARD MAC address, why does it list every new random address making it quite time-consuming to open the listing and may be the reason my connections to the web are getting slower? Also I believe there may be a limit of MAC addresses the Router can handle so what happens if it reaches such a limit? If router has a time-stamp of such addresses and starts to delete the oldest ones would it perhaps delete a prior registered "HARD" MAC address? Why the name dropping and other errors in the listings (which I have observed in the past) Thanks for someone clarifying #1, the reason or need for #2 v/s potential wi-fi slowdown or future problems and can #3 be fixed.
