Scam number in your password reset email
Trying to set up Nighthawk app on new phone and somehow my password wasn't working.
Got this email with a one-time code.
It had this phone number to contact Netgear support and it took me to what was almost certainly a scam that first asked if I was over 50 and then tried to "give me a free medic alert device." Luckily I found another path through the app that had a real number for Netgear.
I don't want to wait for my screenshot to upload.
It said:
"If you did not request this code, please contact Netgear Support at 1800 419 4543."
Happy to forward if helpful.

Hi, thanks for posting this, but the point was to alert Netgear to the fact that a number they are sharing with customers is being used by a scam. Is this just a community board? Is there a better place to share this with Netgear?

As the name says, this is mainly community driven.
This doesn't imply no Netgear reps are potentially reading select sections.
Are you convinced your email system is reasonably secure, and your messages had not been tampered?

If you still have access to that email, it might be interesting to look at the technical information to see where it originated. Many email programs, such as Thunderbird, reveal all sorts of interesting information about messages.
