Hi everyone, thank you in advance for the help. A while ago my new router was rebooting randomly on its own. I got in touch with Netgear support, when it was still within the first 3 months of free support, and they eventually were able to help me out. They sent me a special firmware version that keeps the router from doing that weird random reboot. Fast forward to today, and it's been a while since I upgraded the firmware because if I check on the router's built-in firmware update page, it never finds any new firmware versions. So my question is, should I upgrade the firmware manually to the latest version that's on Netgear's website? I am currently running V1.2.10.56.RAX43V2 firmware update?
I have tried to update my firmware on my RAX43V2. The router shows/says that there is a firmware update available but won't install it. I have tried manually installing from the downloaded file. When I try the manual update, it gives me the file/firmware is not for this device. I am running the 1.1.3.18. When I log into/onto the router, it shows... A router firmware upgrade is available. I have downloaded all the updates, 4.28, 6.36 and 6.38. All of them give the same result when running the update...This file is incorrect. The chat bot says 3.18 is current for my router, but the site and router show 3 updates... Anyone else having this issue?43Views0likes7CommentsDisable 5ghz temporarily
I am trying to add Wemo smart plugs to Apple Home, and having trouble having them recognized. I think it is because my iPad is connected to 5Ghz channel, and the plugs use 2.4. I have found older articles about temporarily disabling the ssid broadcast for 5ghz, turning down its power, etc via the Orbi web page. But, I don’t see any controls that will enable me to get my iPad to connect to 2.4 - perhaps these control have been removed. The version of the Orbi web page is 2.7.5.6, and I have an RBR50Port forwarding not working on Orbi Router RBR350
Hi all, i have an RBR350 router at home, only router, which is connected to the ONT of the ISP. i have tried setting up the port forwarding 5510 for my NAS, on the router. Settings have been saved, rebooted the router. But when i check the port status, it is still closed. Steps i did to port forward. Logged on to the web browser using the router's ip address, then Advanced Tab- Advanced settings - Port Forwarding / Port Triggering, then added the port number 5510 under TCP for the same port number to the respective local device's IP address. Screenshot attached. Looking forward to get some help from people here. thank you in advance.971 Apple phone app changes??
Sometimes I will bring up the app on my iPhone and see the first attachment when connecting and looking at what is connected. Pretty boring. Then sometimes I will get the second attachment that shows, speed, SSID, I can even turn it off? Any idea why? I would sure like to have the second one ALL the time. Next post will have the second pic.109Views0likes9CommentsRBS50Y (Mk 1) firmware corruption.
I have a large house containing an Orbi mesh system comprising RBR20 router, 3 x RBS50, and 1 x RBS50Y (Mk 1). For seven years, including regular firmware updates to all components, the system has operated perfectly without problems. About six months ago, June 2025, I performed a firmware update in the usual manner, but the update to the RBS50Y outdoor unit was interrupted by a power loss to the house. When the power was restored the RBS50Y no longer appeared as part of the mesh, and for the last few months, despite trying every form of rebooting, it will not reconnect to the base unit or any satellite either in Orbi or extension modes. I believe it needs a new flash firmware, but of course there are no Ethernet sockets to do this. There does appear to be a mini serial port inside the unit when the cover is removed. The blue and white lights flash upon booting but connection is still not possible. Any ideas on how to reinstall the firmware?Setting up RBK760 in Access Point mode
I am replacing my old Orbi RBR50 (Router + 1 satellite) system with an RBK760 (Router + 2 satellite) system. I'm in the UK and have a Vodafone FTTC broaband connection. The Vodafone Power Hub has no ability to operate in bridge mode and so I have my Orbi RBR50 router set to Access Point mode and connected to the Powerhub by an ethernet cable. Wifi radios are set OFF in the Powerhub and so wifi is provided by the Orbi. I have been reading the user manual for the RBK760 and the section entitled "Use the router as a WiFi access point only" only describes how to set up the Orbi router as an AP after you set up your Internet connection. Does this mean I HAVE to go through the Internet connection setup before setting up the Orbi as an access point? I thought perhaps I could set up the orbi as an access point and then connect it to the Vodafone Power Hub router so has anyone done this?RBRE960 DHCP issue?
I have an RBRE960 with three RBSE960 units. Two are wired, and one is connected wirelessly. I’m experiencing major issues with my devices losing connection to the network. My iPhone suddenly drops the connection and gets a 169.254 address. The same happens with my Apple TV, Mac, etc. To fix it, I have to forget the network on the device and reconnect. I have the latest firmware installed, v7.2.7.15. What could be causing this, and how can I resolve it? Thanks in advance!Printer behind ORBI not found
Dear friends, I have a standard configuration, with a WiFi modem from my Telco provider in the basement, and an (RBR50) ORBI access point (set-up as Router) in my kitchen. Both have a different SSID. All works well, but my Epson app can't find my printer, even if I give it its IP address. I read somewhere that the app sends an "mDNS/Bonjour" message to the printer(s) on the home-network, but that the ORBI might block this message ? How can I fix this ? Thanks for your help & advise !
