random disconnects and slow downs
hello!
I recently purchased my first orbi system: RBR50 and RBS50 satellite. My experience so far has not been good. My devices randomly get kicked off the network (a firmware update did help) and i can't remember the last time i got the speeds on wifi that i get plugged in via ethernet.
I know wifi is able to get me those speeds (68 - 72 down 15 up) because my ISP router could do it, but it could only support 20 devices.
Currently i have 32 devices connected and both the router and satellite is running V2.5.1.16. Most of the time my devices get 20 - 30 down, even though a speedtest on the orbi router's website (orbilogin.net), shows that i get the minimium 68 down i pay for.
I have turned on Implicit beamforming but this has not really helped.
My Backhaul status is reported as "GOOD".

What is the Mfr and model# of the Internet Service Providers modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
Is the Orbi system operating in Router or AP mode?What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected. https://kb.netgear.com/000036466/How-far-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite-from-my-Orbi-routerWhat channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or maynot be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings
Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Circle, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Set Short preamble instead of Long preamble modes. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last update?

Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge or modem only mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ/ExposedHost or IP Pass-Through for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
