Rbk50 firmware update
Hey guys, need some advice. I have an rbr50 and two rbs50. Installed them in 2016, so they all have 1.4.x.x firmware on them. I’m trying to add a third rbs50v2 that I picked up off Amazon. It failed to sync. After some research, I realized we all needed the same firmware. I hooked up a pc via network cable and tried flashing 1.4.x.x but of course it wouldn’t. Wrong hardware I guessed. So I flashed the latest. This new unit was four versions behind latest. Now my question is: to get my existing units to the latest version can I flash them to 2.2.1.212, restart and then flash to latest? I see some info on the forums about having to flash to each release. Surely not. Next question, any chance the 1.4.x.x config save restoring properly on the latest version?

You first need to apply Version 2.0.0.74 to the RBS then RBR.
Then graduate applying Version 2.2.1.212 to the RBS then RBR.
Then you should be able to go directly to latest FW version on the RBS then RBR.
Be sure you update the RBS first then RBR lastly at each version stage.

Once the router is at the latest firmware release, it would be a good idea to save another config file.
