RBK50, Satellite reporting not connected but working ok, for a while.

Hi

I have a system with an RBR50 router and three RBS50 satellites.

When looking in the RBR all three satellites are connected, two with 5GHz Backbone, and then the third is connected through 2.4GHz with a good status. It seems impossible to get it to connect with 5GHz, even if I move it closer. Now it is about 10m distance, in view (no walls in between).

The thing is, when I log onto the third satellite URL to check the status, the satellite reports

"Your access point has no connection to the router. Check your ethernet connection."

It indicates No Connection on both 2.4GHz and 5GHz.

When I check Connected Devices on the satellite, three devices are connected, one of them the computer I am  browsing to the satellite with, and also writing this post on, so for sure it works.

However, after some time (hours or a day or so) the satellite causes the whole system to keep dropping the WAN connection, reconnecting, dropping and on it goes. If I turn off the satellite the problem disappears.

Clearly something is wrong with the satellite

1. It thinks it is not connected to the router, when it is
2. After being on for a while, it somehow causes the whole mesh system to keep dropping and reconnecting the WAN.

Any ideas what could be causing this problem, or how to fault-trace it?

All units are on FW 2.7.5.4

Just as an experiment, what happens if that 3rd satellite is moved (literally) 1 meter away from the router?  Does that get it to connect at 5G?

While it is really close, what happens if it is connected to the router with an Ethernet cable?

Placing it close makes no difference.

If using an ethernet cable connection, what would it tell me if it works as expected, or vice versa?

If this satellite never connects with 5G WiFi even when very close, then something is wrong with it.

Satellites are also supposed to detect a 'wired' connection and automatically switch to it.  If the camera actually does this, then that would be an option to get a better backhaul connection.

The post did not comment on whether a Factory Reset of the satellite has been done.  This is sort of the last resort for Orbi systems.
