RBR 20 no internet in AP mode
I have a Netgear C7000V2 router modem and am trying to us an Orbi RBR20 as an access point. I can set it up fine and it works when the Orbi is hardwired to the C7000. As soon as I disconnect the Orbi...

Or put the orbi router next to the gateway and pickup a few more satellites to spread around the house. Its just the orbi router that has to be wired in. Its satellites can be wireless

I want the Orbi to act as a wireless range extender for the router modem. I thought AP mode would allow me to do it. The router modem is limited by where the cable access is for placement and it is in the far back corner of the house. So when I say disconnected it is not connected to the router modem because it doesn't offer any benefit. There is no ethernet in the house. Yes I can do POE to get be able to make a hard wire connection but was trying to avoid it.

Orbi systems can't technically extend wifi signals from the host like actual WiFI extenders with a wireless connected. All Orbi systems require a ethernet connection, router or AP mode. They don't have any kind of bridge or wireless extender abilities.
You can try some power line adapters if the home is on same circuit and see if this helps with using the Orbi in AP mode.
