RBR10 firmware not updating
I tried to manually update the satellite of my RBR10 via the web interface to the firmware version 2.7.4.24 (currently it's V2.7.3.22), using RBR10-V2.7.4.24.img, but the system gave the message: "...

And just like that, it all worked.
I tried updating the satellite's firmware via its web interface and this time it worked and rebooted the satellite.
The router's web interface also confirmed the satellite had been updated to the V2.7.4.24
I then manually updated the router via the web interface and it too updated to V2.7.4.24
So all is good now 🙂
CrimpOn, thanks again for your input. Knowing about the RBR vs RBS firmware really helped. Have a great day!!

Thank you, CrimpOn.
I downloaded the RBS10-V2.7.4.24.img
But when I tried uploading it in the Manual Firmware Update Admin web interface (after selecting the Satellite) I got this message flash up:
"This firmware file is incorrect! Please get the firmware file again and make sure it is the correct firmware for this product."
The ORBI app, the web interface auto firmware check, and the manual firmware upload are all not finding/rejecting the V2.7.4.24 update.
What to do?

After extracting the image from the zip file, I usually connect directly to the satellite using the IP address shown on the Attached Devices page. (same login as the router: "admin" plus password). Select the bottom menu item, Firmware Update.

Thanks, CrimpOn, didn't know that the satellite had its own web interface.
But I connected to it, uploaded the RBS V2.7.4.24 firmware, and hit update, and after 10 minutes it is still NOT updated (web interface said it should take 1-2 min, see screenshot attached).
The router web interface says that the satellite is still on the previous firmware V2.7.3.22
Has anyone been able to update RBR/S10 to the V2.7.4.24 firmware?
I personally think there is a bug somewhere that's stopping the firmware update from being applied, and only Netgear can fix it.
Is there a way to escalate this to Netgear tech support?

The community forum exists to a large degree because Netgear provides '90 days of complimentary support' with an original purchase. After that, customers can either pay a Netgear subsidiary (called GearHead) or can search the internet for clues. There is a popular forum on Reddit and this Netgear sponsored community forum. I came to the forum when my system was a little over a year old to ask about something that puzzled me, and some really nice people helped me out.
Very puzzling. What people often do is get out a paperclip and stick one end into the tiny "Reset" hold on the back of the satellite ro 10-15 seconds. Then try again after it reboots.

Hey CrimpOn
Thank you for letting me know all that and about the reset (which I'm not going to try).
All the evidence points to something in the firmware not allowing it to be updated on RBR/S 10:
- the ORBI app says that V2.7.3.22 is the latest version and no new firmware is available;
- the firmware when applied manually (to both the router and the satellite) through the router's web interface is rejected with the message: "This firmware file is incorrect! Please get the firmware file again and make sure it is the correct firmware for this product."
- the firmware when applied to the satellite through its own web interface does not apply.
- in the past, I have successfully updated the firmware on the router and satellite via the ORBI app.
I think my only hope is if Netgear sees this thread and investigates, or that when new firmware is released, it will work.
Thank you again for your suggestions.
