Rbr20 constant purple led no connection
Hi
I have an ADSL internet connection and purchased an Rbr20 + 1satellite a few months ago because I couldn't get the WiFi to reach all parts of our house (3floors). Soon enough the problems started: suddenly we'd get the purple led flashing on the router and lost the connection. Things seem to have got worse with the new software download. Sometimes the connection stays on for hours, and then suddenly we can't get it to work despite all the reloads we do. We work from home so we need to get this sorted ASAP, this is not sustainable at all.
Thanks

purple usually means the sat can't connect the router. maybe move the sat closer?
If things seem to have got worse with the new software (im guessing you mean firmware) then perhaps revert back to the preious version.
What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem/ONT the NG router is connected too?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected. https://kb.netgear.com/000036466/How-far-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite-from-my-Orbi-routerWhat channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?Try enabling Beamforming and MIMO(MIMO may or maynot be needed) and WMM. Under Advanced Tab/Advanced Settings/Wireless Settings
Try disabling the following and see:
Armor, Circle, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Set Short preamble instead of Long preamble modes. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).

..........suddenly we'd get the purple led flashing on the router and lost the connection. ......If you see the purple LED on the router, then most likely your issue is similar to this: https://community.netgear.com/t5/Orbi/Another-RBR50-Dropping-Internet-Connection/m-p/1875385/highlight/true#M84882
