RBR20 drops internet connections twice a day.
Orbi keeps dropping internet connection. External connection is via a Arris surfboard router.
Model # RBR20, Firmware version : V2.2.0.68
2 satellites RBS20 statelites (firmware: V2.1.4.16) connected, internal connection is fine I lose internet connectivity 2 times a day. I have to reboot the router to get connectivity back.
Tried the clock/timing approach however the time seems to be fine in the logs, looks like time is syncronized via NTP.
Please help ready to return this after about a month of use and frustration.

What is the Mfr and model# of the IP modem the Orbi is connected too?
Modem Combo Units:
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router.- smistryAspirant
Thanks for your prompt reply.
I am using a Arris Surfboard SB6141 so it has no WiFi or radio. I also am using the Orbi in a router mode. Maybe can move to AP if you recommend.
The IP address shown on Arris webconsole is. 192.168.100.1
On the orbi console I see the following for the internet connection :
IP Address 98.234.141.209 Please let me know what you recommend.
No the Modem you have is a modem only. So no router there. Your connection with the Orbi in Router mode should be ok. Router mode is needed for your configuration...
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between them to begin with depending upon building materials. What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
Try disabling the following and see:
MIMO, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).
