RBR20 issues, upgrade to switch
I have an RBR20 with two outdoor satellites. The 20 and one satellite are in the main house and the other satellite is on another house. We just got fiber, 300mbs, to the main house, up from dsl 12mbs. The houses are about 500' apart with trees. The satellite link has always been orange, but it didn't matter.
Now I get 300mbs via the orbi speed test, but only 20-30 on devices connected to the second satellite.
I like the orbi system and would upgrade to 6 or 7, but they don't seem to have outdoor options. I could use an indoor satellite on the porch, but I'd want to make sure the range was good enough. Or I could drop orbi altogether and get a real outdoor range extender.
Any thoughts?

Your problem isn't the orbi but the 500ft separating them. Orbi isn't designed for spanning that distance. regardless if you use wifi 5/6/7. You might get a connection but its not going to have any throughput that works decent.
You'd be better off to connect the 2 buildings with a point to point system. Netgear has Airbridge but its been in/out of stock for a while. Might be worth checking into a different system.
I would connect the 2 homes that route.

Hello denji0 ,
Welcome to the NETGEAR Community!
I understand that you are not getting the desired network connection speeds for the devices that are connected to the satellite in the second house. The materials in between the router and the satellite can cause network stability issues. There is a satellite and a router in one house and only a satellite in the second house. According to this network topology the satellites are configured for a daisy chain. Instead of connecting to the router, the second satellite may be connected to the first satellite. Please ensure that the router is located in the middle of the network topology.
