RBR20 With Spectrum Modem/Router
I’m helping a family member setup internet within their house. It’s approx 5,000 sq ft home with a finished detached garage that needs WiFi.
Ideally, I would suggestion the RBK50 (router & satellite bundle) and ditch the Spectrum equipment but family member doesn’t want to spend the extra money for the bundle if it’s not necessary.
He wants to use the existing Spectrum router/modem in the main part of the home and connect a RBR20 to an Ethernet connection in the back of the house which would in theory provide WiFi coverage to the garage.
If it doesn’t reach the garage, he can always add on the outdoor satellite (RBS50Y).
Any concerns or issues with using the RBR20 router through the Ethernet connection and primarily for its WiFi capabilities?

Modem Combo Units:
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, LAN to LAN and configure AP mode on the Orbi router.
