If I put my RBR50 in AP Mode to use a different router would the other satalite loose internet connection/functionality (RBS40v) with the RBR50 not in router mode. New to mesh systems.

Ok thanks
So from cable modem to primary router, then plug orbi rbr50 into a Lan port, (change the RBR50 into ap mode, and use the wireless network from primary router rather than orbi with it now in ap mode

ALL wifi on the primary router needs to be disabled. You only need the wifi on the Orbi.
- JPBOLDYMar 19, 2019StarI need a different router that will be mainly for WiFi, I need the orbi not to clash with it, unless it's possible to just keep it in router mode and change the WiFi channels they use.
But ideally I need this new router as primary for time being- FURRYe38Mar 19, 2019Guru - Experienced User
You can use the Orbi in router mode.
What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?
What Mfr and model# primary router are you using? Why not replace the primary router with the Orbi router?
Having two wifi sources in close proximity can be problematic.
- JPBOLDYMar 19, 2019StarISP is virginmedia using a superhub 3 which is in modem mode and rbr50 is primary router at the moment.
Want to change orbi primary for a Netgear WiFi 6 router hence needing to put orbi into ap mode
