RBR50 Bricked by latest automatic firmware update

So I woke up last week to discover that an automatic firmware update was running on my RBR50 Orbit. The system rebooted, and will no longer work. Even a factory reset using the physical button doesn't work. I just get a blinking red LED.
Since my 90 day complimentary tech support (what a joke) has expired, how do I go about getting a replacement since Netgear bricked my router?
Ironically, I'm now getting emails to renew my Netgear Armor subscription.

If your Orbi router is still under warranty, you contact Netgear for an RMA warranty replacement.

    But first try this:

unplug router for at least 3 minutes, leaving the power supply connected to the router. While holding down the reset button, plug the power supply back into the wall outlet and power up the Orbi router. Keep holding the reset button, until you see a red power light, then let go. See if it goes to green. allow at least 5 minutes after the red light is visible.
