RBR50 Problem Download speed
I am using an ATT router modem as a pure gateway and the RBR50 Orbi Mesh (1 satellite) as the wifi router. Via wire when I connect my Macbook Pro to the ATT gateway I get near gigabit speed both for download and upload. I have gigabit service. When I use wireless with my Orbi I get about half that for upload but the download is one tenth of the upload. Is there a setting on my ORBI that may be limiting my downlad speed. It just recently changed and I have been doing some adjustments on my modem/gateway and router to enable the use of a resident VPN server on a firewall device. I have tried to disconnect attached devices including the firewall but to no avail. The speeds stay the same. Any suggestions?

hat FW is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the ISP modem the NG router is connected too?SInce the modem is a gateway, this already has a built in router which is not recommended as it can cause double NAT problems and slower speeds thru the Orbi.
Modem Combo Units:
Couple of options,
1. Configure the modem for transparent bridge mode. Then use the Orbi router in router mode. You'll need to contact the ISP for help and information in regards to the modem being bridged correctly.
2. If you can't bridge the modem, disable ALL wifi radios on the modem, configure the modems DMZ for the IP address the Orbi router gets from the modem. Then you can use the Orbi router in Router mode.
3. Or disable all wifi radios on the modem and connect the Orbi router to the modem, configure AP mode on the Orbi router. https://kb.netgear.com/31218/How-do-I-configure-my-Orbi-router-to-act-as-an-access-point and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H7LOcJ8GdDo&app=desktop

Sorry about late response we had a personal emergency.
I disconnectd the firewall so its out of discussion. I had already implemented your option 2. I have a PACE 5268AC that is in bridge mode. I get download speeds about 1/6 to 1/10 of the upload speeds and cannot figure out why? I went through the option 2 again and restarted both the Pasce and the Orbi. Speeds the same. Any other ideas?

Is the PACE still in bridge mode?
If it's in bridge mode, then you don't need to use the DMZ on the modem.
We need to verify that the modem is bridged, if it's bridged, then you should see a public IP address ON the Orib routers internet port, ##.##.###.###, if it isn't then you'll see a 192 or 172 or a 10 Ip address string on the Orbi
To use the DMZ on the PACE, the modem needs to be in router mode.

Compare wired test results with a different wired PC if possible

Even wired to my orbi using my mac book the differences in download and upload are the same.
