Rbr50 satellite not supported on orbi app
I have an Orbi system with base and 1 satellite that I have hard wired through the base. It was working just fine, then suddenly I cannot connect to it via wifi. The devices I have hard wired to the satellite (smart tv, xBox) work just fine, but I cannot connect my Wireless devices. When I pull up the orbi app, the base connects when I’m close, but when I’m closer to the satellite, the app only says router not supported.
Any thoughts?

I have "Thoughts", but they may not be helpful.
- Orbi users who participate in this forum appear to have little experience with (or interest in) the Orbi "app".
Netgear has a community forum devoted entirely to the Orbi app. You are more likely to get an informed response by posting the question in that forum:

It's not that we don't want to help, but we know so little. - If no device will connect via WiFi (not even a single one), this leads one to suspect that somehow the Orbi WiFi name (SSID) or password got changed, perhaps by accident. Does the Orbi SSID show up in the list of WiFi networks?
- The best tool for troubleshooting the Orbi system is the Orbi web interface, which is accessed best by using a computer that is wired to the Orbi router with an ethernet cable. Do you have this capability?
(I know this is an awkward question because so many home these days have only smartphones, tablets, and the newest laptops no longer even provide an ethernet jack.)

Thanks for the response.
I think I should expand a little on my original post.
The base unit works perfectly fine, wired and wireless, so I don't believe it is the SSID or password being changed.
The satellite is the issue. It works as a switch for wired devices I have attached to it. And it seems as tho I can connect to it with my cell phone, because the wifi icon is on, but I cannot get out to the internet from it, and when I try to access it from the Orbi app, it says router not supported.
The sattelite is now flashing white, but very erratically. It sometimes lights, then dims to off. Other times it lights, then just shuts off quickly. I tried re-booting the system, syncing the devices (even tho I have them wired together), and I attached a computer to use the web interface (through the base unit) and it shows the satellite as a wired component of the system. But I still cannot get anything to work wirelessly with the satellite.
Does this help narrow down my problem?
p.s. We did have a slight power outage a few days ago, then this problem developed.
thanks,
Ken

What Firmware version is currently loaded?
Be sure RBR and RBS are loaded with same version of FW.
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between RBR and RBS to begin with depending upon building materials when wirelessly connected. https://kb.netgear.com/000036466/How-far-should-I-place-my-Orbi-satellite-from-my-Orbi-router
Has a factory reset and setup from scratch been performed since last update?
