RBR50 Slow Speeds and Intermittent Connection
My internet connection has been very slow and cutting out over the last several days. The download speeds are roughly a third of what I get when directly plugged into the modem. I updated to the latest firmware (V2.1.4.16) and this did not help at all. The wifi connection will cut in and out, and sometimes even when I'm still connected to the Orbi's network there will be no internet connection. But when I plug my laptop directly into the modem everything is fine, so I think the problem is with my Orbi. This all happens when connected to both the satellite and main router, even when I am sitting right next to them. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
30 feet is recommended in between them to begin with depending upon building materials. Move the satellite farther away.
Then try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz
Also as a test, turn OFF The satellite and run the router only. Do you still see the problem?

What FW is currently loaded?
What is the Mfr and model# of the IP modem the Orbi is connected too?
What is the size of your home? Sq Ft?
What is the distance between the router and satellite(s)? 30 feet is recommended in between them to begin with depending upon building materials.
What channels are you using? Auto? Try setting manual channel 1, 6 or 11 on 2.4Ghz and any unused channel on 5Ghz.
Any Wifi Neighbors near by? If so, how many?
Try disabling the following and see:
MIMO, Daisy Chain, Fast Roaming, IPv6 and Set 20/40Mhz Coexistence to 40Mhz only. Save settings and reboot the router and satellite(s).- r3idAspirant
Current FW is V2.1.4.16 and the modem is Arris TM822. House is 1,900 sq ft and the satellite is about 15 feet from the main router. The main unit is directly in the center of the house, but I don't believe placement is a problem here because I experience problems even when sitting directly next to it. 2.4GHz channel is currently set to auto and 5GHz channel is set to 48. No neighbors' networks are available.
